Populate RSS Feeds for IFTTT Networks
Spinjutsu is able to both create and automatically populate RSS feeds with new content on an on-going basis with its automation engine. This keeps your IFTTT networks supplied with a steady stream of fresh, new content that's highly-relevant. Here are a few key things to know about this:
Q: What is a stock RSS feed?
A: A stock RSS feed is an RSS feed populated with content that is of a general nature, and not necessarily specific to a particular company. Out of the box, this is what Spinjutsu is able to provide. You can make the feeds of a branded nature through various parameters that you provide when creating your RSS feeds and through the static text module which can be set to be injected into all articles created for a project. You can also modify any of the content modules themselves.
Q: How do I use the RSS feeds created by Spinjutsu?
A: You have two choices on what to do with them. When you create a feed in Spinjutsu, you tell the software what to do with it. You can either have them uploaded to your Amazon S3 account and placed into a specific folder, or they can be uploaded to your FTP server. We tend to recommend the AWS approach because as long as you set the bucket permissions up for public access, all you have to do is give the link to IFTTT and it will begin pulling new posts from the feed immediately. If you choose to use FTP instead, you may have to set up a special process on your server to copy the feed out of the FTP directory and into a publicly-accessible web directory. Because all hosting environments are different, and we DO NOT provide support for customer hosting issues, it is best to stick with AWS unless you know what you are doing.
- Posts can be automatically curated, thus referencing other blogs in the same industry
- Content can come from either the Spinjutsu content library, or ArticleBuilder (if you have an account with them), though the curation engine only works with Spinjutsu content due to the special mechanisms involved in automatic curation
- Create a special spintax blurb that will be automatically injected into all posts (if you want), thus enabling you to take content from ArticleBuilder and ensure that it ends up having your own special content such as an iFrame, NAP for local SEO, or to achieve surgical precision over how your links are built.
- You can select "Random" as the category or sub-category for Spinjutsu content, thus enabling you to provide varied types of content to your blog that are all still within the same general industry, without sounding like they are all talking about the same thing over and over again.
